CHOICE 1980-2000s      During the time of the 1980s we have now reached an era where education reached unprecedented levels. Majority of the school-age-population was enrolled in school, 71% of students were graduating highschool, and even furthering themselves to college. I believe the role of  politicians and the publicity of education changed school into what they are presently in the United states. With the worry now being the economy was facing competition due to the lack of Americans achieving global goals, education was at a “potential crisis”. The federal government felt there needed to be more involved  elsewhere which allowed education and its burden to be shifted in the hands of state and local authority. Giving hope that school would improve and public education will have a brighter future.       However this was not the case for America's schooling system.
